What does Versorium mean?

Our association bears the name Versorium. This name was not chosen at random, so we would like to explain to you what this name means.

Versorium, from Latin: versare, to turn back and forth, is a small device that was developed to detect static electricity. It was designed in 1600 by the English physician and natural philosopher William Gilbert (1544-1603), making it the oldest known electrical device. The versorium is an example of a primitive electroscope. (Wikipedia)

We therefore thought this was the perfect name for the study association of electrical engineering.
